Ebb and Flow

Ebb and Flow is a series of B&W 35mm film, delving into the fluctuating state of emotions through bodily manifestations. Thinking of emotion as this tide, going up and down, in and out, the images are meant to be perceived though the viewers own state of mind.

 

Personifying inner emotion through the body as a vessel, revealing what’s concealed beyond the skins surface, the images are designed to remain ambiguous yet bring us closer to understanding our emotions by making them physical and tangible. Holding neither positive nor negative connotations, I invite the viewer to make their own interpretation and connection with the images- through comfort or discomfort.
